Their Real Technology Is Not What You Think — Gog and Magog (Yajuj Majuj) Part 8
When people picture Yajuj Majuj, known in English as Gog and Magog, the imagination often jumps straight to science fiction. Online videos and comment threads suggest hidden cities, advanced machines, or a secret civilisation waiting with futuristic weapons. Part 8 of this series asks a simpler question: is that picture actually what the traditional accounts describe, or have we added a modern layer on top of an older story? Presented here as religious tradition and storytelling, rather than as verified historical fact, the accounts deserve to be heard on their own terms before speculation takes over.
What the traditional descriptions emphasise most is not machinery. They emphasise number, persistence, and pressure. Gog and Magog are described as a people so numerous that they overwhelm by sheer scale, and so determined that they return again and again to the barrier that holds them back. In the well-known account, they dig against the wall of iron and copper associated with Dhul-Qarnayn day after day, making progress, then stopping, then returning the next day to begin again. The detail that stays with the listener is not a blueprint for a device. It is patience, repetition, and collective force applied over a long time, with simple tools and an unwillingness to stop.
That distinction matters. A story about overwhelming numbers and daily digging is very different from a claim about confirmed advanced technology. The sources do not provide technical specifications, and they do not describe the kind of futuristic systems that modern speculation often supplies. Reading later ideas back into earlier texts can make the tradition sound more precise than it is, while missing its central warning about a force that cannot be contained forever by human strength alone. Part 8 invites viewers to separate what is actually described from what the internet has added, and to consider why the simpler picture may be the more unsettling one.
