How Powerful Is the UK? | Most Powerful Nations on Earth #5
The United Kingdom has about 68 million people and a relatively small army, yet it continues to take part in major global decisions. Its economic influence includes the City of London, the pound sterling, and an economy of roughly $4 trillion. Defence strengths include the Trident deterrent, in continuous service since 1969, two aircraft carriers, AUKUS cooperation, and a UN Security Council veto. Diplomatic reach is widened by the Commonwealth, a network of 56 nations. Soft power adds further weight through the BBC World Service, the Premier League, and the global use of English. Army size and budget pressures are real limits, but Britain's position and networks keep it among the most powerful nations. Watch more on our YouTube channel: Daily Info Dose on YouTube
